Just spoken to him, seems the std road going Toyo's are letting him down, R888's in the offing !!!
I was gutted not to be able to go myself, snapped the near side rear drive shaft last night while setting up the launch control !!!
Be there on May 20th though !!

Ye Dazza was saying he had to much wheel spin getting off the line...Sorry to hear your misfortune Bob, Daz was telling me yesterday...

The 888's are great aren't they Bob...
The T1s's and R's are great on the road but as you say nothing like man enough for serious strip use..
Spec on the car should be good for a mid 11 if he can get the traction...

:s_thumbup: .
888's are my staple diet, use them all the time for general and performance driving, my launches last night were without any spin, just driving straight off from a 5800 rpm positive 0.8 bar wot launch side stepping the clutch. First two were ok, third one did it as the tyres were good and sticky.
Think Dazza will do a bit better even than that once he gets things a bit more sorted. My own did 11.2 when I binned it at SSO last May and its only 2 litre. He's going on the 20th as well so looking forward to it, even dropping pressure on tyres he has would improve things alot.
cheers

We haven't spent a lot of time drag racing (Been to 2 RWYB's in 13 years..lol) but the crack we had at Portreath in my Starlet reminded me how important the grip from launch is...
No traction at all in the first 2 gears doesn't exactly help for a quick 1/4 mile...
The Skyline on the other hand was fantastic , just dug in and off it went..
Shame the timing gear was out of action as it would have been nice to get a slip for both...
Seem to remember the Skyline crossing the line at 120-125mph so a theoretical high 11...
So come on Dazza , did you do it..........?

12.003 @ 119
gutted to be honest . . was really hoping to get in the 11s
i know its only 4/100th second away but i was still disappointed
did 5 runs
1) 12.3 @ 115
2) 12.6 @ 112
3) 12.3 @ 115
4) 12.003 @ 119
5) 12.3 @ 116
apart fromt the good and bad it was fairly consistent
and
i beat a 900 bhp drag scooby
his reaction time was 3.05
and he crossed the line at 9.81
with my good reaction i beat him by 0.22
win's a win , inch or a mile it's still a win
not sure if i'll have the 888's by the 20th but my T1S's will be more scrubbed in by then, so i will drop the pressures to around 20 and see what that does,, ran them at 25 sunday and as bob and bob say i just lit them all up right through to 3rd gear
mind you 0 - 119 in 12 seconds aint to be sniffed at
hopefully have some videos next time as well
when i get in the the 11s

that's all i need TBH
i wasn't expecting miracles for my first outing with an extra 100+ bhp
but i did expect to be in the 11s at least
still , plenty more opportunities
