View Full Version : What alarm???
i am intending on getting an alarm fitted v.soon and am considering both falcon and clifford - kinda on the falcon side cause they offer the same spec - auto closure, remote locking, remote starting, pager etc for 200 quid less!
but... whats peoples experience of them please...
also will these sort of gadgets such as remote everything mess up the other electrics like boost control and turbo timer etc.
many thanks for the help.

know someone with a falcon alarm, it is always false activating, car drives past it goes off. cat jumps on the bonnet... it goes off...... also had major issues with the control box.... they had the control box die while on the motorway, and the car died..... the have had 3 control boxes fitted to it now.
I have had may different alarms, and have always preferred the Clifford........
I have also had and fitted Laserline and the Toad AI606 alarms.
I highly recommend the Toad AI606 i have fitted two of these, onto to Final Legacy's legacy and their has been no problems with it.....
If you wanted to save some money.... you could buy a top alarm on eBay and i could fit it for you.... I cannot stamp the certificate, however you can take it to any Thatchum approved alarm place for a health checkup about £25.... this gives you your thatchium certificate, as my work is to standard...
that explains why the falcon is a couple of hundred quid cheaper...
i think the clifford is the top one really - thats why you pays the money but i will defo look in the toad alarms.
thanks.
fyi if you look for the hornet alarms it is the same as the cliffords
made by same company and all the clifford extras fit onto it
when i got some more cash im going for remote start and dual zone proximity
just an update....
think clifford have priced themselves out of the market - avantguard 5.5 is 1350 but got the price down to 860... but 860!
what i want is remote locking, total closure, bonnet/boot/door protection, proximity alert/alarm and remote starting...
do hornet do that?
any links to specific sites/products would be greatly appreciated

adding the remote start and dual Zone Proximity sensor..would bring it upto £409 and then it does not have Blackjax.......
I would go with the clifford for the extra, more features and Better Quality.
Phill-Type-R has the Avanguard 5.5 and it is a top alarm. it has Blackjax enabled and i have tested it and it does work.
anyone tryes to nick your car at the lights, they only get 100 yards down the road, before Blackjax kicks in. car will die, and brake lights flash. alarm sounds..... A Feature worth every penny.
I have it on mine. as well as remote turbo timer.
